News from the Norwich Union London Grand Prix

CHRIS TOMLINSON won the long jump, Jason Gardener enjoyed his last-ever outdoor race on a British track and Tyson Gay was a predictable winner of the 100 metres. But performance of the night went to shot putter Reese Hoffa, who threw a gigantic 22.43m.

It was a shot put mark that has been beaten by only 10 athletes in history and was almost half a metre better than Hoffa’s previous best throw.
